This look gets the point across modesty-wise, but is discreet enough that if someone felt a need not to advertise blatantly that they are a Muslim for some reason (maybe while visiting their family who is hostile to Islam and doesn't know they have converted), it might be a good option.

I agree with caraboska! Very nice, modest outfit and it would be good to wear around a family hostile to Islam!

I love her style...I actually dressed like that when I was younger, as a teenager because my mom was VERY anti-hijab but I wanted to cover sooo badly. So I did so...like how she is covered. It's not ideal from a shariah standpoint BUT it's modest and it's a good entre into covering...

Bay Area pride! Rockin' the hijab at Peet's! The only thing that would make this picture better is if she had an iced chai in her hand ;).

I think this sister demonstrates very well that the hijab is not defined by the typical Saudi attire and is about the individual being true to their self in the context islamic modesty... even if its a hat, as long as it does its job, it's sufficient... Mashallah sis
