Update, Thanks & Eid Call-Out :: Global

Dearest Hijabistas - As Salaamu Alaikum!

I hope this post finds you well and partaking of all the blessings of Ramadan.

As you know, this post is a Hijabs High first as I have never written on this blog personally before as the emphasis has been on all of you and your inspirational style and verve. However, as many of you have noticed, Hijabs High has gone through periods of dormancy in the last year. I have received many messages regarding the state of the blog updates and lots of good wishes and encouragement that it continue.

The support that this blog receives is overwhelming and I wanted to thank you all for taking the good of what is here and letting others know about it. I also wanted to share with you that, in the past year I have become a mother for the first time after a somewhat difficult pregnancy and that is the reason that the posts on Hijabs High have been so sporadic. I simply have been focused on the baby and rearranging my life and in the hullabaloo of this terrific new adventure of motherhood, Hijabs High has, unfortunately, suffered a bit.

But, as my life settles back into a good routine, I once again have the time and energy to commit to posting here and in saying that, I have an idea and I need your help!

I would like to restart posting on Hijabs High with an Eid Style Extravaganza and with your help, I think we can have an awesome, international collection of Eid Style!

So on Eid ul-Fitr, this year, take your camera with you and snap some images of those fabulous hijabistas at Eid prayers, when you go visiting, at dinner or even in the back garden.

Then upload and email the pictures to me at hijabshigh[at]gmail[dot]com no later than Tuesday September 14, 2010.

I will then post them together over several days for a veritable Eid Style-a-Thon!

Things to keep in mind when taking pictures:
  1. Capture and send a high-resolution image from a digital camera or iphone - usually other camera phones do not take large enough images
  2. Try to capture the entire outfit
  3. We like it when hijabistas are smiling!
  4. Remember to tell me when and where the picture was taken - what city and country
If you have any further questions, please ask them in the comments and I will respond there.

Finally, I want to assure everyone that I am absolutely committed to Hijabs High and, with your help, will continue to do my best to regularly post fabulous images from around the world.

Looking forward to receiving and posting your images!

Much love and many blessings!

Mubarak on becoming a mother!

I was sad to see that this site wasn't being actively updated like before. But seeing this post has made me happy. I love this site and am a regular viewer here.

This is a great event, can't wait to see all the lovely hijabi girls!

Bismillah. Eid Mubarak! May the Lord grant us constantly increasing knowledge of Him, and may we remove from our lives all idols, worshiping God and only God in spirit and in truth! Ameen.
